Okay so even on a good sale, and with coupons, you can’t always beat the price of fresh homeade pasta. It costs less than a dime to make, and the flavor is incredible compared to store bought. So let’s begin.
You will need:
Make a well with the flour, and Add 1 egg
You can mix with your hand or with a fork, start from the center, and slowly pull in the flour from around the edges.
Keep mixing and you will end up with something like this:
It should feel like a stiff version of playdough
Now knead it with the palm of your hand a few times.
It should look something like this, wrap it it saran wrap or put it in a plastic bag and let it rest for at least 30 mins.
The next step is to run it through the widest setting on your pasta machine (number 7 on my machine), then fold it, run it through again, and do this step 3-4 times until you get a shape something like this:
then adjust the pasta machine to make it one step narrower and run it through again (so from a 7 to a 6 on my machine) (then go to the next narrowest 6 to 5, 5 to 4, running the pasta through each time until you reach your desired thickness)
Now it is time to cut the dough,
Your finished product will look like this:
At this point you can freeze it for later use, you can allow it dry and then store it, or you can cook it up!
Get some water boiling on the stove, drop it in like you would regular pasta, and it literally will only take 1-2 minutes to cook!
I added a little cream, tomatoe, basil, and garlic, and this is the finished product! This gourmet dinner cost less than a $1.

Okay so today I did pretty good, I bought 6 boxes of chocolate Cheerios, 2 boxes of lucky charms, 4 Pillsbury grands biscuit products, and 2 Pillsbury orange sweet rolls products, plus 1 thing of Trident layers gum, now the questions is how much did I pay for all of this?
I actually earned $2.00 on the deal!
The cereals were $1.50 each when you buy 4, I bought 8
Used 6 $1.25 off/one box chocolate cheerios coupon (which I posted about earlier and seems to no longer be available)
Used 2 $1.00 off 1 General Mills printable coupons,
plus 1 e-coupon from Tom Thumb website for $0.55/1 Lucky Charms
and got 8 boxes for $1.95
Then I bought 4 Pillsbury Grands ($0.99 each) and 2 Pillsbury Sweet Rolls ($1.89 each)
Used 2 $1.00/2 grands printable coupon
Used 1 $1.00/2 from Safeway Simple Affordable Meals book
Used 2 $0.95/1 sweet rolls printable coupon
Plus $1.00/2 e-coupon (can’t remember if it was cell fire or shortcuts, but it was one of them)
cost was $1.84 after coupons plus it triggered a $4 catalina which is good for my next in store purchase on any item!
Last but not least I bought the Trident Layers Gum (on sale for $1.00)
Used $.75/1 coupon from 2/7/10 insert
paid $0.25
So my total was around $4, I used my $2 catalina from my last trip, and got back $4 in catalinas today!
